The free version is very frustrating for a beginner :( Nothing is easy here. I do not think I would have received the same level of care from the other big companies in this market which is why I have taken the time to commend Lightworks on this. Rather than state the obvious and blame me, the company sent me out two or three patches which fixed the error and enabled me to export my files. They worked with me to fix the issue - the metadata on an image I was using had a dimension set to 0.so the programme was trying to divide by zero and ultimately ran out of RAM. Naturally, I blamed the software and contacted customer support. I had a tricky issue that was making using Lightworks impossible. However, the main purpose of this review is to commend the customer support from the dev team. I don't mind missing out on a few features, but limiting my export options is not good. My only complaint is that certain things that are locked behind the higher paywalls, such as choosing the file type and size to export, absolutely should not be. The app works great, it has most, if not all, features of the top video editing software. I wanted to write an honest review about my experience with Lightworks.
